Late to the fight- Week beginning 25th October 2021

Late to the fight has turned out amazing.

As a designer I created the mock-up of what the UI should look like, the backgrounds for the game and then I also helped with some of the platform design.

Unfortunately, my menu wasn’t used that I had designed as they chose a sunset over the royal blue with the knight next to it although they did follow my idea of the buttons being wooden planks.

They also didn’t use the backgrounds that I had mocked up and then had to create as we were running short on time. They went for a night-time background instead of a sunset/sun rise. T5his didn’t really make sense story wise as why would a knight be fighting at night.

I also called a programmer to discuss platform placement. We called and I explained that the beginning should focus on a few jumps to get the player ready and then an easy enemy on a large platform to practice fight mechanics.

Me and Valerie called to work through lots of the design. She gave her opinion on everything and came up with some great ideas that unfortunately wasn’t incorporated into the game.

I will also admit that I did not write the small story description that was meant to be shown at the start of the game. This wasn’t essential but would have added a nice touch as to what the law of the game is and what is happening in this magic circle. I did only spend about 3/4 hours on this game due to having to work and some personal issues, but I did the best I could.


Overall, it was a good game, and I enjoyed the people that I worked with.
