This week was all about showing emotions and how emotions are formed. I started this week with task one which was taking selfies while displaying different emotions. I then printed these out and wrote around the images the key features that made these emotions. I also decided to write in coloured pens that I feel linked to the emotions. These notes will help me to create these emotions later when I must create my final piece.
The second task was trying to show these emotions as simply as possible. As a result, I created cartoon characters with eyes, eyebrows, and a mouth and these where the only features I had to display the emotions I had taken selfies of. I found that with my cartoons a lot of the emotion was in the eyebrows, the eye lids, and the placement of the pupil. I did have to erase a lot of eyebrows as I found that sometimes the misalignment would throw the entire emotion of the face off course. I enjoyed doing the cartoons to show emotions as it shows how simple it is to add emptions with only the changing of a very few lines.
